Fresh corn is almost free right now in Portland and this casserole was the sample this afternoon at my favorite local grocery store, New Seasons.  I was shopping hungry (bad idea) and stopped to taste. This casserole is SO AMAZING! I used fresh corn for mine instead of canned and it is so crisp, creamy, crunchy and perfect. I think it would also be wonderful with a little bit of chipotle or jalapeno added. It was also really easy to make, even with my girls running around.

Purl Soho!

I am back from my trip to New York and still catching my breath.  My trip was amazing and the applique workshop at  Purl was so much fun. The studio space at Purl is bright and lovely with high ceilings and the space felt just right. It was personal and I could give all of my attention to each lovely student.  Here are some photos of the classroom space, the store and me just before class. I can't wait to go back! And I also have to give a special thank you to my dear friend Dane - he kept me calm and laughing before class, it was just what I needed!

 I leave for New York tonight on an overnight flight...it is kind of a hard way to start off a trip, but it means I get to tuck my girls into bed tonight and have some precious hours in the studio before I leave. Anniversary Weekend!

This past weekend was my and Victor's  eleven year wedding anniversary and my mom treated us to an overnight at "The Inn at Spanish Head" in Lincoln City while she watched the girls- BLISS. We had the most incredible time, the weather was in the high 80's (unheard of at the Oregon coast) and they have an outdoor pool! It was so relaxing and just what we needed.
